Author Guidelines
Please review these requirements before submitting to JOTS.
Author checklist
- Manuscript is anonymized and free of identifying metadata.
- Title, abstract (max 250 words), and 4-6 keywords included.
- Tables and figures are labeled, cited, and supplied with captions.
- Ethics approval, data availability, and funding statements included when applicable.
- References follow a consistent citation style (APA preferred).
Article types and word limits
- Research Articles (6,000-9,000 words, excluding references).
- Review Articles (6,000-10,000 words).
- Policy and Practice Briefs (3,000-5,000 words).
- Case Studies (3,000-6,000 words).
Manuscript preparation
- Submit a clean manuscript file without tracked changes.
- Use clear section headings and consistent formatting.
- Provide figure and table source notes where required.
Anonymisation
- Remove author names, affiliations, and acknowledgements from the manuscript.
- Replace self-citations with "Author" in the manuscript and references.
- Strip identifying metadata from file properties.
